Built for student data

Student data deserves school-grade protection.

Most athlete-monitoring tools were built for professional clubs. Athletic Advantage was built for schools — which means privacy, consent, and compliance aren’t an afterthought, they’re the foundation.

Privacy Act aligned

Student data, handled under the Privacy Act

Athlete records are treated as the school’s data, not ours. Access is scoped to the team, coaches and the athlete — never sold, never shared with third parties for advertising.

Consent for minors

Protections for younger athletes

Student-athletes under 18 require verified parental or guardian consent before any wellness data is recorded.

Wellness ≠ medical

A clear, deliberate line

Daily wellness check-ins are subjective readiness signals — not diagnoses or medical records. The product is designed so coaches monitor readiness without becoming custodians of medical data.

How we handle data

The specifics, in plain English.

01

Encrypted in transit and at rest

All data moves over TLS and is encrypted at rest in our database. Access is authenticated per-account and scoped by role and team.

02

Scoped access by role

An athlete sees their own data. A coach sees only their team. Nobody sees another school’s athletes. There is no public profile and no cross-school data pool.

03

Parental consent for minors

For any student-athlete under 18, verified parental or guardian consent is collected before any wellness or training data is stored.

04

You can export or delete it

Athletes can export their own data from the app at any time, and accounts (and their data) can be deleted on request. Chat messages auto-expire after 12 months.

05

Never sold, never ad-targeted

We don’t sell data, and we don’t use student wellness data for advertising. Our business model is school subscriptions — not data.

Common questions from schools

Who owns the data?

The school and the athlete. We’re a processor — we store and display it on their behalf and never claim ownership.

Is a wellness check-in a medical record?

No. Check-ins are subjective readiness signals (sleep, soreness, mood). They are intentionally not diagnoses, and the product keeps that line clear.

What about minors?

Student-athletes under 18 require verified parental or guardian consent before any data is recorded.

Can a parent or school request deletion?

Yes. Accounts and their associated data can be deleted on request, and athletes can self-export at any time.
