Parental Consent

About parental consent

Plain-language information for parents and guardians. Looking for an emailed consent link instead? Those open a separate, personalised page — check your email for the original link.

1. Why we ask for consent

Athletic Advantage collects daily wellness information from student-athletes — things like sleep, soreness, energy, mood, stress, and pain. For any student-athlete under 18, Australian privacy practice requires a parent or guardian to agree to this before it starts. Your child's school sends the consent request; we host the page where you respond to it.

2. What information your child provides

If you consent, your child can complete a short daily wellness check-in, log training sessions, and be assigned recovery or development activities by their coach. This may also include sensitive information such as injury history or health conditions, where relevant to their training. None of it is collected before consent is granted.

3. Who can see it

Your child's data is visible to your child, the coaches on their specific team, and their school's admin staff — and to no one else. It is never visible to another school, another team's coach, or used for any purpose outside supporting your child's training and wellbeing.

4. This isn't a medical service

Athletic Advantage is a wellness and training-support tool, not a medical service. Nothing it shows is a diagnosis, a clinical assessment, or a substitute for advice from a doctor, physiotherapist, or athletic trainer. Coaches are asked to treat flags from the app as a prompt to check in with an athlete — not as a medical finding.

5. Nothing is collected before you decide

No wellness data is collected for a student-athlete under 18 until their parent or guardian has responded to a consent request. If you decline, or simply haven't responded yet, your child's account will not collect wellness data.

6. Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting your child's school directly. Once withdrawn, we stop collecting new wellness data for that athlete — the school can tell you what happens to data already recorded.

7. Who to contact

For questions about a specific consent request, start with your child's school — they sent it and can resend or update it. For general questions about how Athletic Advantage handles data, email hello@athleticadvantageschool.com.
